    Economy News - Baghdad
[rtl]Former Minister of Electricity, Qasim Al-Fahdawi, confirmed today, Tuesday, that political interference and conflict with state departments disrupted the work of the industry support team and industrialists, considering that political quotas brought in more than half of the incompetent general managers in state departments, while revealing that Anbar Airport is a big lie and needs more. 40 years to succeed.[/rtl]

[rtl]Al-Fahdawi said in a televised interview followed by Al-Iqtisad News, “The industry and industrialists support team was formed by the Prime Minister to solve problems in the industry, support industrialists, and overcome obstacles facing the industry, both the public sector and the private sector.”[/rtl]

[rtl]He added, “The public sector asks the private sector to give and produce without giving it anything, and this team’s mission was to solve this problem and revitalize industry in the country,” explaining that “the public sector cannot be promoted due to the many and ill-considered appointments in the government sector and ill-considered employment led to To the deterioration of the industry, there is a study that says that the average productivity of an Iraqi employee does not exceed 18 minutes, while in 2002 the productivity of an Iraqi employee was 360 minutes, and this difference led to the deterioration of the industry because the appointments were for electoral purposes.[/rtl]

[rtl]Al-Fahdawi pointed out that "many factories and laboratories in Iraq have disappeared. For example, the Samarra pharmaceutical factory was superior to European industries in terms of citizen confidence in the local product," pointing out that "the Ministry of Industry has become a burden and a problem for the state budget because it has begun to take from the state budget after... “It was the largest source of the state budget.”[/rtl]

[rtl]Al-Fahdawi explained, “The Industrial Reality Reform Committee was unable to solve any problem due to political interference and conflicts with state departments. To solve this problem, we requested the presence of the Prime Minister to the committee so that he could solve these problems,” noting that “unemployment solutions occurred after the approval of non-appointment during the years.” The current budget was to build residential complexes and build them with Iraqi manufactured materials so that we can absorb youth unemployment, and after the presence of the Prime Minister and the issuance of many decisions that will contribute to solving the problem of youth unemployment.”[/rtl]

[rtl]Al-Fahdawi pointed out that “there are many upcoming seminars with industrialists to solve their problems and overcome obstacles to the advancement of the industry, and one of the most important of these industries is the localization of the pharmaceutical industry because it consumes 30% of the citizen’s income, in addition to the fact that 90% of the products in Iraqi stores are imported despite their lack of importance.” And the possibility of manufacturing it in the country, and there is a material paid for 300 million dollars annually that was manufactured in Baghdad shops.”[/rtl]

[rtl]He explained, "The biggest problem is that most of the projects existed in Iraq and could be developed, but unfortunately we have become largely dependent on the importer, even though industrialists have a desire to advance the industrial situation."[/rtl]

[rtl]Al-Fahdawi stressed that "many general managers have become as if they were tenants and not natives of the country. The biggest problem is that their percentage has become more than half, and all of this is because of quotas that do not bring people qualified for the positions."[/rtl]

[rtl]He explained, "Anbar Airport is a big lie and will not be completed. This is because the airport needs a population exceeding two million in order to operate, and the governorate does not achieve this percentage until after 41 years with population growth. The committee in charge decided that the airport should be in the Habbaniyah region, but there is resistance to the establishment of a civilian military airport in This region and during that period obtained Al-Maliki’s approval to establish the airport despite his opposition to the establishment of a civil airport in Habbaniyah,” he pointed out, “Al-Maliki pushed for the establishment of the airport in Area 37, which will not operate there until after a generation because the airport is expensive and there are projects more important than it at the time.” Present".[/rtl]

[rtl]Regarding the electricity file and Iran’s interference in it, Al-Fahdawi explained, “The electricity problem is a country’s problem and its main problem comes from the Ministry of Oil, which supplies electricity with fuel. This is because the Ministry of Oil only supplies electricity with crude oil, which reduces electricity production, unlike if gas is used,” indicating “Using gas stations is the most successful project because they are a successful alternative to thermal stations that rely on water, and the current scarcity of water does not make it a successful project, unlike gas stations, where Iraqi gas is available in abundance, provided that it is invested by the Ministry of Oil, and I do not know the reasons for the delay in exploiting associated gas.” Which could solve the gas stations crisis in the country.”[/rtl]

[rtl]Al-Fahdawi explained, "The spending on electricity is very large, and this is the reason for the high cost of producing electricity that made it unsuccessful. Billions were spent on it without its success. Even if we buy ready-made electricity from Iran, it is better than producing it inside Iraq through stations powered by Iranian gas."[/rtl]
