    The National Investment Authority announced that it is working to solve the problem of overtaking investment projects in the areas surrounding Baghdad International Airport.
    The Authority said in a press statement, the Chairman of the National Investment Authority, Dr. Haider Muhammad Makiya, chaired a meeting of the committee to reconsider the boundaries, coordinates and areas of lands allocated for investment in the areas surrounding Baghdad International Airport to address conflicts and transgressions on lands allocated for investment projects.
    The Chairman of the Authority said that the meeting was a continuation of the previous meetings, and a discussion of the latest developments by the members of the committee to reach appropriate solutions to the problem of conflicts and violations of investment projects.
    Makiya added that the authority is continuously following up on investment plans and projects in a way that suits the economic development and infrastructure needs of the area surrounding Baghdad International Airport, which contributes to moving the wheel of investment and providing the best services to citizens.
    According to the statement, the meeting was attended by representatives of the Office of the Prime Minister, the Directorate of Real Estate Affairs in the Office of the Prime Minister, the Ministries of Defense, Finance, Water Resources, Construction, Housing, Justice, the Aviation Authority, the Municipality of Baghdad, and the University of Baghdad.
    The statement continued, “The meeting discussed finding legal formulas to ensure the continuation and launch of investment projects in the region and the reality of the investment licenses currently established within the region’s lands.”
    According to the statement, the attendees signed the minutes of recommendations in order to submit them to the Prime Minister’s Office.
