[rtl]Baghdad / NINA / The Parliamentary Legal Committee has identified the paths for assuming the position of Speaker of the Council of Representatives.
The Vice-Chairman of the Committee, Mohammed Anouz, said in a statement to the National Iraqi News Agency / NINA /: "There are two options, no third, regarding assuming the position of the new Speaker of the Council of Representatives instead of Mohammed al-Halbousi. The first is to amend the Law of the Council of Representatives to open the door for nominations for new figures, and the second is to keep the same four candidates to choose one of them," indicating: "The situation is still unclear regarding going to one of the two options."
He explained: "All political blocs are concerned with choosing the new Speaker of the Council of Representatives, and the matter is not limited to the Sunni blocs only," noting that there is a major division over the names of the candidates to assume the position, which is what is delaying the choice so far.
It is noteworthy that the four candidates whose names have been put forward for the position are Representatives Salem al-Issawi, Talal al-Zubaidi, Amer Abdul-Jabbar, and Mahmoud al-Mashhadani. / End 9[/rtl]
