    Information / Baghdad...
Member of the House of Representatives, Abdul Rahim Al-Shammari, said today, Friday, that the Sunni House’s options have become limited, especially after the Federal Court had its say regarding the candidates for the position of Speaker of Parliament.
Al-Shammari told Al-Maalouma, “The position of Speaker of Parliament will not remain vacant, and there will be dialogues and interventions, and the Prime Minister may have his say in this regard to resolve the crisis between the opposing political parties.”
He added, "The parties in the Sunni House no longer have any other choice other than the options presented regarding the candidates for the position of Speaker of Parliament, which requires them to reach an understanding, resolve the current crisis, and proceed with choosing one of the candidates."
He stated, "The Federal Supreme Court said the final word regarding the candidates for the Presidency of the Council, indicating that the Sunni House's choices have become limited to the personalities proposed to compete for the legislative position."
In its last session, the House of Representatives failed to choose a new Speaker of the House of Representatives, due to the failure of the most prominent candidates, Salem Al-Issawi and Mahmoud Al-Mashhadani, to obtain sufficient seats that would qualify one of them to obtain the position of President. Ended 25 n.
