    Being Turkish Prime Minister Ben Ali Yildirim Thursday 's visit to Iraq is the first by a high - level Turkish official since the tension in relations between the two countries in the past few months on the back of the entry of Turkish troops without permission from Baghdad to Ba'shiqah camp in the northern city of Mosul.

    The Foreign Ministry summoned the Turkish , Iraqi ambassador in Ankara Hicham Alaoui in protest against the decision of the Iraqi parliament has been called in the Turkish ambassador in Baghdad , Farouq Qaamakja on the back of comments 'provocative' launched by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on the liberalization process of Mosul. 

    Turkey has repeatedly expressed its desire to participate in the liberation of Mosul , a process that began in 17 of last October , saying that the aim of the participation is the face of all threats to the security and the future of Turkey. 

    In a related development , Turkish President held on Friday talks with Prime Minister Haider al - Abadi , during which the visit of Turkish Prime Minister Ben Ali Yildirim 's upcoming visit to Baghdad with Turkish relations - Iraqi Turkish Deputy Prime Minister Numan Kurtulmuş said yesterday the first Monday 'back again' and that the visit Yildirim will be Thursday [tomorrow]. 

    The two countries held their first meeting of the Turkish - Iraqi Strategic Cooperation in the Iraqi capital in 2009 , while the second meeting was held in Ankara in 2014.
