    1/2 Wild 2 @ Lightning 3

The Wild continue the homestand tonight as they host the Tampa Bay Lightning in St. Paul. The teams have split the season series in each of the last two seasons with each team winning on home ice.

Tampa has been one of the bigger disappointments thus far, as they were by all accounts expected to be a top team in the ever toughening Eastern Conference. Injuries have been a factor but their inconsistency in goal and defense have really been the Achilles heel of the Lightning to date.

There is still time for Tampa to climb back into the playoff race and they are very capable of doing that. Steven Stamkos will return and you know GM Steve Yzerman is always looking to make his team competitive not just for the short term but moving forward as well.

Tampa is beginning a four game road trip that will take them to Winnipeg, Dallas, and Colorado following tonight's game in Minnesota. They have won their last two and are showing signs of life. Last year's problem child for the Lightning, Jonathan Drouin, is this years biggest bright spot. Drouin has 27 pts in his last 29 games and 16 gaols and 34 points overall.

For the Wild, it should be more of the same, as Bruce Boudreau tinkers with his lines and lineup in an effort to keep the team both fresh and everyone competing for valuable ice time.

The one constant line that is the Mikko Koivu, Mikael Granlund, Jason Zucker unit, all the other lines are being put through the Boudreau blender.

Devan Dubnyk will oonce again be in the Wild net and will most likely be opposed by Ben Bishop for the Lightning.

The game will once again be broadcast on NBCSN and should be a very entertaining contest as both teams like to push the offense and control the tempo of the game. The Wild will need to get bodies in front of Bishop who, like Dubnyk is a big goalie who moves very well in the Tampa net.
