    Washington strongly condemned the arrest of "hundreds" of peaceful protesters across Russia, including Russian opposition leader Alexei Navanli during a protest march against corruption organized in the capital Moscow.
    He said Mark Toner, US State Department spokesman said in a statement: "The Washington considers these measures to limit democratic values".
    Toner called on the Russian government "to immediately release all peaceful demonstrators, adding that the US government" disturbed "to hear the news of the arrest Navalena.
    Toner said, "that the arrest of peaceful demonstrators and human rights monitors and journalists defies the essence of democratic values," adding that his country "will monitor this situation".
    "The Russian people, like other people everywhere, deserve a government that supports an open arena for ideas and transparent governance is accountable and equal treatment under the law, as well as the ability to exercise their right without fear of punishment.
