Germany bans the veil in the workplace
BAGHDAD (Reuters) -
The German parliament passed a law to ban the veil in the workplace, as women are forced veiled women from non-state workers to disclose their faces when needed.
It must be the Council of German states ratify the new law, which prevents employees and soldiers from permanently hide the face in the workplace before the start of its entry into force.
The ruling coalition, consisting of the party of German Chancellor Angela Merkel's Christian ally, the Bavarian Socialist and Social Democratic Party in the draft law submitted by, that "hide the face stemming from a religious or intellectual perception of a conflict with the principle of neutrality of the state represented in its staff."
The law also included the need to detect veiled women from non-state workers from their faces when you need to prove their identity, as it happens, for example, when requesting verification of personal information.
He argues that conscientious objectors this law stems not only from a symbolic policy and reckon that the number of cases in which this provision applies very few.
