    revealed that the Committee on Culture and Information in Parliament, for the completion of public holidays law definitively, asserting that the law , which sparked widespread controversy during the last term, is ready for a vote after it was agreed on most of
    its paragraphs.
    Committee member MP Haider Mawla said in a statement »Sabah» that « the Commission ended the holidays law after it was agreed to determine the 11 official holiday in the law, of which the first and the tenth of the month of Muharram and the holiday 20 of zero, and the Feast of Independence and holiday workers and New Year 's Day », adding that« it was agreed to resolve the law and presented to the presidency of Tusit him in the coming days ».
    And between the Lord that « have been identified 5 days for provincial councils in accordance with the law within its powers except the provinces of Najaf and Karbala and the holy cities of Kadhimiya and Samarra , which was given a special status».
    He added that « the rest of the provinces are not entitled to give a holiday for more than 5 days during the entire year», adding that « the law if passed will reduce the chaos holidays and the lack of commitment of some provinces and give them a breakdown without justification or reason».

    He said he «was also agreed with the Committee of Awqaf definitively on some religious occasions», indicating that «there are a lot of holidays that existed have been converted into
    celebrations».
    And on occasions other minorities, he said member of the Committee that «holidays and occasions some religions have not determined within the law, but be for them without Holidays the rest of the categories of people, with the exception of Christmas , which is an official holiday for all Iraqis».
