It began this morning the polls in local elections in the cities and villages of the West Bank amid a boycott by Hamas and the Popular Front and the Islamic Jihad.
The voting process will continue until the evening to enable voters to cast their ballots, and are entitled to about one million and 143 thousand Palestinians participate in the elections, while at a cost of about $ 6 million, according to the Central Election Commission.
Elections are held in all governorates of the West Bank, with the exception of the camps while Hamas prevents carried out in the Gaza Strip, the Israeli army refuses to take place in the city of Jerusalem.
The Committee says that the number of local bodies where she ran more than one list and will hold local elections today are 145 local body, she ran to the boards 536 list, with 4411 candidates and candidates competing for 1561 seats.
While there are 181 local body where she ran a single list only, and thus will be announced by acclamation winning all the seats on the day of announcement of the results, where the number of candidates in these lists in 1683, representing the number of seats in them.
The elected members of the security forces of their candidates last Thursday so that they can secure the conduct of the elections, said the Central Election Commission said voter turnout stood at 80.8%.
