kitty lover here too  -  also like dogs too. One can cuddle better with cats.

But 'the cat' knows all the right questions to ask the 'duck'

My dog days are over...doesn't fit my lifestyle. My cat only cuddles if it's her idea, brat...but you're right Ann, 'the cat' knows the right questions LOL

Dogs have Masters - Cats have Staff.

You're part of the staff and the cat knows it.

If your kitty comes and sits on your feet and you don't shoo her away - 
 that's one of the signs that she knows she's in charge.
Applies to dogs too. 

I learned this from watching 'The Dog Whisperer'  with Cesar Millan.
