The French newspaper The Wall Street Journal reported that France is resorting to Iraqi forces to hunt down and liquidate the French terrorists in Mosul.
The newspaper said, citing an Iraqi security source - in an investigation on its website - that the French special forces handed over the Iraqi counter-terrorism list of 27 names and attached to the list pictures of five of them.
The aim was to prevent those elements, as well as other French-speaking citizens, particularly Belgians, from returning to their countries of origin to launch attacks.
She stressed that the list, which was created with the beginning of the battle to restore Mosul in October 2016 is updated every time the elimination of militants, pointing out that the Iraqi forces killed a number of them on the basis of information and data provided by the French forces.
She noted the efforts of about 40 French special forces to monitor these French-speaking terrorists by drones and intercept radio conversations, as well as gathering information in restored neighborhoods by calling and inspecting homes left by fighters.
For his part, spokesman for the French Army Chief of Staff Colonel Patrick Steiger, declined to comment on the existence of this list, stressing that the task of the Special Forces of his country in Mosul is to advise and support Iraqi forces to restore this city within the framework of the International Alliance led by the United States, In the context of comprehensive control of the drowsy.
