    US-backed forces advance into tenderness

    Editorial Date: 2017/6/10

The US-backed coalition of Syrian-Kurdish Arab forces in the western part of the city of Raqqa, which is being called by its "capital", is reportedly advancing.
The coalition said the move opened a new front in the city of Raqqa, and fighters entered the eastern part of the city last week.
Violent clashes broke out between coalition fighters and armed militants, according to the alliance.
Several months ago, these US-backed fighters were slowly scrambling to encircle the city of Raqqa before the offensive began to regain control.
"Syria's democratic forces have taken control of the western part of the Sabahiya neighborhood and have reinforced their positions there," Rami Abdel Rahman, director of the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, was quoted as saying by AFP.
"Then they went north to the nearby Roman area where they fight and called there," he said.
A statement issued by the "Euphrates" campaign for Syria's democratic forces said the fighters had stormed into the Roman quarter and engaged in "fierce fighting inside the neighborhood."
The city of Raqqa, which was controlled by an advocate in 2014, is an important center for its operations, and reports say that armed Raqqa in Raqqa estimated about 4000 gunmen.
Syria's democratic forces are a Kurdish-Arab alliance formed in 2015.
Syria's democratic forces control part of the al-Sabahiya neighborhood in the west and control the Mashlab district in the east, but have difficulty advancing from the north of the city, fortified by well-armed and well-armed gunmen.
"It is necessary to study how Syria's democratic forces are advancing in the city," Abdel Rahman said.
"The western and eastern entrances were much less secure," he said.
