Shafaq News / MP of Mutahedoun coalition, Mutashar al-Samarrai apologized to the Iraqis on Sunday of what he called as “unintentional misunderstanding “about the statements released by him and were considered as offensive to the country's population

    .
Social networking sites circulated a video tape of Samarrai, speaking to a local television station in which he said that he opposes canceling pensions of MPs.

He considered that the cancellation of his salary means that his family will “Tadeh” i.e. (vagrant) as the case with the miserable Iraqi people .

These statements were criticized widely in the country.

There are wide parliamentary claims to legislate the law that cancels the privileges of the political class of MPs, ministers and those with special grades

    .
Dozens of people protested on Sunday, in front of Salahuddin Council against statements released by an MP who offended Iraqis as described them inappropriate descriptions in an interview about canceling pensions for MPs

    .
Samarrai said in a statement reported for " Shafaq News" that “ the chaos raised about his remarks were " intentional ," adding that his comments have been cut off the interview that was full of support words to Iraqis and their aspirations which enhances the existence of a negative intention by those parties which focused on negative meaningsonly”.

"I send love and pride message for our people in all parts of Iraq and apologize for the misunderstanding that happened and was not intentional in any way,” he added.

The majority of the parliament blocs attacked Samarrai’s statements of including Mutahedoun coalition led by the parliament Speaker, Osama al-Nujaifi

    .
The controversy was mainly when Samarrai used the work “Tadeh “i.e. vagrant is a word used by many Iraqis to express a person who was dismissed from his job and become without salary wondering in the streets.
