Washington reveals security threat targeting staff of its embassy in Baghdad
The US embassy in Iraq announced on Wednesday that it is restricting the movement of its employees in the country because of security threats, calling on its citizens to take the necessary measures when they work in Iraq.
"The US Embassy in Baghdad is aware of the threat reports targeting US government officials and other civilians. In response, the US Embassy temporarily restricted the movement of its personnel outside the international area of Baghdad, as well as outside the US consulate in Basra, .
"Citizens of the United States should be given more security awareness and appropriate measures to enhance their personal security at all times when they live and work in Iraq," the embassy said.
