    Egyptian television reported Friday evening that the number of victims of a collision between two passenger trains in Abyss, east of Alexandria, rose to 49.

    While the official spokesman of the Egyptian Ministry of Health, Khalid Mujahid, the toll of the collision of trains in Alexandria, amounted to 36 dead and 123 injured. The incident took place in the Apis area east of Alexandria.
    In turn, the governor of Alexandria, Mohamed Sultan, confirmed that the collision of Alexandria trains was due to a wrong signal issued by the railway worker. Pointing out that the wrong signal resulted in the conduct of the mobile train on the same rods "stopped", causing the accident.
    He pointed out that the completion of the removal of all the waste resulting from the accident, and the distribution of injured on 5 hospitals, and the numbers are strictly controlled. For his part, the Egyptian Cabinet announced in an official statement to him, that the Prime Minister, Sharif Ismail, following the collision.
    The Prime Minister quickly set up a specialized committee of the Ministry of Transport to investigate the incident, find out the reasons for the incident and prepare an urgent report.
    The authorities said they were working to provide cranes to lift the wagons and try to save more passengers on the trains, possibly trapped in vehicles damaged by the impact of the collision. In turn, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health in Alexandria, Mohammadi Hijazi, said that the bodies and the injured were transported on ambulances to hospitals Kafr El Dawar and Alexandria.
    Hijazi explained that the state of emergency was declared in all hospitals and payment of additional ambulances to transport the injured and the victims. According to "RT".
    The Attorney-General ordered an urgent investigation into the collision of the two trains, which left scores of victims and injured. A team of the Public Prosecutor's Office in Alexandria was quickly ordered to inspect the scene of the accident and ask the injured, and the national security was quickly ordered to investigate the incident.
