Israeli satellite images revealed Iran's establishment of a military base inside Syrian territory, according to a report
The Independent newspaper reported Thursday.
Political experts warn of turning Syria into an Iranian base, and the military base is in advanced stages of construction, indicating its creation more than two years ago, the newspaper reported in its report, The Journal News.
The newspaper quoted Israeli politicians as saying that "the mission of this base is to bomb the rockets at Israel," based on the continuing hostility between Iran and Israel. "
"The Israeli government will do everything in its power to defend its territory, and we must warn against Iran's incursion into Syrian territory after a desperate defeat," the Independent said in a statement.
