    The United Nations' ambassador to the United Nations, Ambassador Nicky Healy, has unveiled a new draft resolution on sanctions against North Korea over its nuclear and ballistic tests, to be voted on by the Security Council next Monday.
    "Given the urgency of the situation, the United States will distribute a draft resolution imposing new sanctions on North Korea," Hilli said at the end of an emergency session of the Security Council on Monday on North Korea's latest nuclear tests, without elaborating on the draft resolution.
    "Strong sanctions are the only ones that will allow for a political solution [on the North Korean issue]. The US's patience is not endless. The risks are high and the work is now," she said.
    And urged the members of the Security Council to "the signing of the most possible sanctions on North Korea," noting that "her country rejects China's proposal for" Pyongyang to freeze its tests in exchange for the suspension of the United States and South Korea for joint military exercises.

    The U.N. Security Council discussed in an emergency session yesterday the developments of North Korea's latest nuclear test, where Jeffrey Feltman, the United Nations Under-Secretary-General for Political Affairs, said that serious developments in North Korea required a comprehensive response to break the cycle of provocations by North Korea.
