[ltr]Oil markets fell on Thursday, weighed down by rising US crude and production inventories, as well as the rise in the dollar, which could hurt fuel consumption in countries using other currencies.[/ltr]
[ltr]Brent crude futures were at $ 56.12 a barrel, down 17 cents, or 0.3 percent, from the previous close.[/ltr]
    [ltr]US crude futures fell 11 cents, or 0.2 percent, to $ 50.58 a barrel.[/ltr]
[ltr]Traders said the rise in the dollar pushed Brent down while West Texas was affected by an increase in crude stocks and production in the United States.[/ltr]
[ltr]US crude oil inventories rose for a third week in a row, rising 4.6 million barrels in the week ending Sept. 15 to 472.83 million barrels.[/ltr]
[ltr]In the meantime, US oil production recovered significantly from the closures that followed Hurricane Harvey to 9.51 million barrels per day from 8.78 million barrels per day immediately after the storm hit the US coast on the Gulf of Mexico.[/ltr]
[ltr]But dealers said US crude received some support from a sharp decline in gasoline inventories of 2.1 million barrels to record 216.19 million barrels.[/ltr]
