    The press office of Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi said on Saturday that the invitation he received to visit France has nothing to do with the crisis of the unconstitutional referendum.
    "The invitation to visit France was handed over to the prime minister by the French foreign and defense ministers during their visit to Baghdad on August 26, 2017," the office said in a statement received by the Journal News.
    "The aim of the visit is to strengthen bilateral relations and to focus efforts to combat terrorism in the region after the enormous Iraqi successes in this area," he said.
    "The last call of the prime minister with the French president has never been addressed to the need to recognize the rights of the Kurdish people or not to escalate by Baghdad as promoted by the Kurdish media," he said.
    "The French government has condemned the insistence of the Kurdish leadership on holding the referendum and exposing the region to instability," Ebadi's office said.
    The news agency "Reuters" a source in the office of French President Emmanuel Macaron said that Iraqi Prime Minister Haider Abadi before McCron's invitation to visit Paris on the fifth of October for talks on the referendum on the Kurdistan region of independence.
