International sales in the United States fell to a one-year low in August as hurricane Houston was hit by Hurricane and property shortages.
According to the Association of Real Estate Brokers, existing home sales fell 1.7% to a seasonally adjusted annual pace of 5.53 million units last month, the lowest level since August 2016.
July sales were not adjusted to remain at 5.44 million units.
Economists had expected sales to rise 0.3% to 5.46 million units.
