Suez Canal hits record high in 3 days

The head of the Suez Canal Authority, Mihab Mmeish, said that the channel's traffic recorded a record number of transshipment in three days.
Mamesh said that the number of vessels passing through the north 78 ships with loads of 6.1 million tons, while 68 ships from the south crossed the new navigation channel of the channel with loads of 4.3 million tons.
The canal also witnessed the passage of 19 giant vessels over the last three days with loads ranging from 150 to 220 thousand tons per ship, while 22 vessels of the lowest load category, ranging from 100 thousand tons to 150,000 tons, crossed the ship.
The ship's navigation from the north was led by the two vessels of MARIT MAERSK and MARIBO MAERSK with a capacity of 200,000 tons each. The giant container ship AL NEFUD, which flies the flag of Malta, was the largest vessel of the South with a capacity of 200 thousand tons.
The head of the Suez Canal Authority stressed that the increase in the number and load of transiting vessels in the canal proves that the Suez Canal is the main link between East and West and the most important axis in the global trade routes. He pointed out that the Commission has developed a package of flexible marketing policies to attract new shipping lines, As soon as fees are collected for transiting vessels, the Authority has only begun implementing several logistics projects within the Suez Canal Development Project.
