    [ltr]The dollar rallied against the yen, near a three-month high on Wednesday, supported by reports that Republican senators tend to choose John Taylor to become the next chairman of the Federal Reserve.[/ltr]
    [ltr]The Australian dollar was the most heavily traded among major currencies, dropping 0.8 percent against the US dollar to a three-and-a-half-month low after weak Australian inflation data.[/ltr]
    [ltr]The dollar rose 0.2 percent against a basket of major currencies, nearing a three-week high.[/ltr]
    [ltr]Taylor, a Stanford economist, is seen as the person who could put the US central bank on a faster pace to raise interest rates than Federal Reserve Chairman Janet Yellen, whose term ends in February.[/ltr]
