    The head of the Association of Banks in Lebanon Joseph Tarbi said on Sunday that there is no direct threat to the monetary stability of Lebanon from the sudden resignation of Prime Minister Saad Hariri on Saturday.
    "The pound is supported by huge reserves in the central bank, confidence in the Lebanese banking sector and the continued functioning of institutions.
    Lebanon's banking sector supports its fragile economy and the pound is pegged to the dollar at 1507.5 lira.
