EU warns of Saudi intervention in Lebanon

Baghdad - Agencies
The European Union called on outgoing Lebanese Prime Minister Saad Hariri to return to Lebanon, warning Saudi Arabia to intervene in Lebanese affairs.
"We appeal first and foremost to the (Lebanese) political forces to focus on Lebanon and what it can offer its citizens (as we call) Prime Minister Hariri to return to his country and the unity government ... to focus on its internal achievements," EU High Commissioner for Foreign and Security Policy Federica Mujerini said.
"We expect no external interference in this national agenda," said Mugherini, after hosting a meeting of EU foreign ministers in Brussels. And we believe that this is necessary to avoid bringing regional conflicts to Lebanon, "praising the achievements of the Lebanese government headed by Hariri.
For his part, French Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Derrien called on the sidelines of the meeting not to interfere with other countries in Lebanon.
