    Baghdad News -
    NEW YORK (

Reuters) - South Carolina's Melt Baiker sells only ice cream, but in spite of its simplicity, its commercial operations offer its customers the possibility of paying in the currency of the Petequin.

To deal with this virtual currency, you do not have to be familiar with information science, but it is enough to buy the currency from specialized Internet platforms in exchange for bank transfers or through automated dispensers.

At Malt Baikeri, it is enough for a customer to use an application on a smartphone to perform the necessary conversion in the currency of the Petequin, but it requires the approval of some users connected to the network, which makes the process takes some time and add some costs.

As a result, the customer can pay $ 9 for a five-dollar ice cream.

In New York City, few traders use the virtual currency of the "Petcavin". In 2014, a medical clinic published a news story informing its visitors that it accepts the virtual currency, but no one has asked for payment, according to workers.

"This type of advertising is only published for commercial promotion," says Nick Allen, a technology startup. "Bitcoen will not be used in day-to-day transactions because of the heavy costs of its conversion, and it is difficult to verify operations by employees."

But the 24-year-old accepts the virtual currency and transfers every dollar he gets.

His advantage is through online purchases, and he sees traders paying increasing attention to this currency. But in return he suffered because of his dependence on Petequin. On a trip to the Netherlands he had only € 200, and the rest of his money was in the virtual currency, which he could not find.

Betcuain is not the only virtual currency in the world, but the months among hundreds of its kind used in e-transactions to buy tickets through Expedia, electronic games from Microsoft or overstock furniture.

Purchases in the virtual currency are still only 0.25 percent of OVERSTOCK exchanges, but its director, Jonathan Johnson, sees the currency as "good for us" and gives customers new ways of paying off bank transfers.

OVERSTOCK initially converted all the virtual currencies it receives into the dollar, but it now retains half of it to use to repay suppliers, and also to benefit from its rising value, which jumped from $ 1,000 at the beginning of the year to more than 11,000 currently.

Many users buy the currency of Petcone for use in online trading, but others buy it for speculation and wait for its value to rise.

"It's the easiest and safest way," says Matthew, a former financial sector employee who has moved to work in the technology sector. Last year, it began buying a home in Harlem, a store in Harlem.

ATMs are everywhere in the city, receiving 10 to 15 transactions a day, but many believe that it is "an additional way to pay" and will never replace the dollar.
