Iraq's Oil Minister Jabbar al-Luaibi said on Tuesday his country's keenness to strengthen bilateral relations with Algeria, especially in the field of oil and energy, and called on Algerian company Sonatrach to invest and work in the development of oil projects.
According to a ministry statement received by "Economy News", "Allaibi received Algerian Oil Minister Mustafa Qitouni at his residence in Kuwait on the sidelines of OPEC meetings."
"Sonatrach is one of the most prestigious companies with a good reputation and we invite them to work in Iraq, especially to develop and invest in the gas sector," Al-Allaibi said.
For his part, Algerian Energy Minister stressed the need to expand the prospects for joint cooperation in addition to the desire of his country's companies to implement oil projects in Iraq.
