Oil prices jumped to $ 68 per barrel on Thursday, as demand for crude rose, with the release of stockpiles.
By 7:40 am GMT, the benchmark Brent crude was up 0.4% at $ 68.12 a barrel.
The price of NYMEX crude futures was up $ 62.08 a barrel, or 0.7%, after reaching $ 62.17 a barrel, the highest since May 2015.
