The parliamentary legal committee confirmed on Sunday that the budget of 2018 did not witness any violation of the Constitution, noting that the budget was calculated today on the basis of population ratios in each province, which may be considered by some as a constitutional violation.
A member of the Committee, Salim Shawqi said in a statement to the information that "the House of Representatives worked on the legislation and transfer of the budget, and transfer of funds from door to door, and reduce expenses," pointing out that "the additions mentioned were agreed between the Presidency of Parliament and the Council of Ministers."
Shawki said that "the representatives of the provinces have made several demands specific to their provinces," stressing that "Parliament approved most of the requests after the approval of the Prime Minister, and therefore can not be challenged."
He explained that "the budget did not witness any violation of the Constitution and calculated on the basis of population ratios based on data from the Ministry of Commerce," noting that "the Kurds rejected this and demanded the 17% granted to them previously according to mutual interests and political agreements." Ending / 25 n
