    BAGHDAD (Union) - The Iraqi Foreign Minister Hoshyar Zebari said in a meeting with U.S. Ambassador to Iraq Robert Stephen Beecroft yesterday, on the importance of following up the implementation of the agreements between the two countries, both politically and armament.

    A statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs that «Zebari met yesterday evening the U.S. Ambassador and discussed with him the US-Iraqi relations, as well as follow-up to the visit of Prime Minister and the government delegation to Washington recently. The «it was stressed the importance of following up the implementation of the understandings that have been made in the areas of political consultation and cooperation security, armaments and follow up the work of the Joint Coordinating Committees emanating from the strategic framework agreement between the two countries.

    Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki visited the United States in 29 of the last month, during which he met President Barack Obama and Vice President Joe Biden and other senior leaders and officials, and discussed with them cooperation in the fight against terrorism, and activate the Strategic Framework Agreement. Maliki announced after meeting Obama near the signing of the purchase of combat helicopters type 'Apache' and different weapons and information systems and intelligence to fight terrorism.
