(International: Al Furat News) The Lebanese parliament on Thursday approved the state budget for 2018, which forecasts a deficit of 4.8 billion dollars, a slight drop from the budget of 2017.
At the session of the House of Representatives, 50 deputies voted in favor of the draft budget while two deputies opposed it and 11 abstained.
The government of Lebanon, one of the world's most populous governments, is under pressure to show that it is ready to implement fiscal reforms before an international donor conference in April.
Last year Lebanon issued the first budget since 2005, after years of wrangling between rival parties that caused political paralysis in the country
