US Trade Secretary: We seek to increase our exports to China

    2018/05/10 19:16

(Encyclopedia of this Day News | Iraq News ) - Live: "Wilbur Ross , " US Commerce Secretary said that trade negotiations with China , including in part, making China buys more goods from the United States.

"There have been progress in trade talks between China and the United States, but barriers are still in place," Ross told CNBC on Wednesday, noting that Beijing is one of the most protective countries in major countries.

"There is a big gap between what the Asian state has put on the negotiating table and what Washington needs," he said. "This is acceptable at this stage of the talks."

Despite these criticisms, the minister, who was part of the negotiating delegation, expressed his happiness at China's willingness to listen and respond to US concerns about the growing trade gap between the two sides.

Ross called on countries, especially the European Union, to be serious in their negotiations with the United States to exempt them from tariffs on steel and aluminum before the deadline for applying the tariffs on June 1.

The US Commerce Secretary added that President Donald Trump was not a patient man, adding that he would not adopt further extensions to enter steel and aluminum tariffs into effect.
