The US military said one of its members was killed by wounds sustained during a combat operation in eastern Afghanistan on Thursday.

The military did not mention in a statement the name of the military who was killed. He pointed to the killing of one of the elements of the Afghan security forces in the operation itself and wounding a number of others injured.

The statement did not reveal more details about the operation or area in which it took place or the number of US military personnel involved

It should be noted that this is the second US military killed in Afghanistan in the past six days, after killing on Saturday, Corporal Joseph Masiel in a "possible attack by a member of the Afghan forces" in
