Documents: Parliament called for the European Union not to sign a cooperation agreement with Iraq so as not to support Al-Maliki

    Sunday 10 February 2013 14: 19 GMT

    Alsumaria news/Baghdad
    Alsumaria
news, obtained Sunday, a message confirms that a number of Iraqi
Parliament members called on the EU to refrain from signing the
partnership and cooperation agreement with Iraq, "does not seem to
matter the Union supports the Government of Nouri al-Maliki."

    In
the letter addressed to the Chairman of the Committee on relations with
the EU Iraq stroun Stephenson, signed by deputies and likkle Mahdi and
Ahmed Talal Al-zubaie and tracks and Hamid Jassim and etab Jassim and
Hassan Al-Juburi, dated 14 January 2012 "received with deep shock the
news of dissatisfaction and the adoption of a resolution on Iraq in
stasborgh next week and that seems inconsistent with the real situation
and the daily challenges on the ground."

    It added that "according
to the text of a draft resolution which read from the website of the
European Parliament, welcomed the decision of the Government in many
aspects including the provision of security to the Iraqis, and it seems
that the primary focus on promoting trade and to support Al-Maliki and
    this for us is unreasonable."

The House is following in their
letter to the European Union "while facing our country one of the worst
political crises, sentenced to death in absentia by the Vice President,
Government forces launched a RAID on the home and Office of a Minister
and seized hawasbih and own holdings without any justification",
explaining that "the highest levels of executions, and angry mobs in
daily demonstrations to protest the arbitrary arrests and ill-treatment
of women in prisons in Iraq, with a number of local governments to the
    departure of Al-Maliki."

Deputies say in their letter, "we
expected the democratic Council of the peoples of Europe to be more
careful on the human rights and democracy, which they run out day after
    day."

The letter notes that "this resolution did not mention any
of these concerns, giving the impression that he designed for the
purpose of promoting injustice rather than victories and the oppressed",
saying that "even if European governments tended towards a
consideration of trade over human rights, the European Parliament,
representing the people should beats the alarm and raised the banner of
human rights and universal human values which equal everyone regardless
of ethnic and cultural differences and religious.

    The letter
concluded: "so you strongly not to urge the adoption of this resolution,
which will only serve to further repression of the people besieged."
