"Iran has succeeded in replacing the challenges that Washington is trying to impose on Tehran , creating opportunities for it to strengthen its regional and international relations, " Qasimi told the PANA news agency .

"Many countries in the world are dissatisfied with US policy towards Iran and instead of responding to Trump's request, they have been tightening their ties with Iran and rejecting their call not to import oil and petroleum products from Iran. The official IRNA news agency reported on Sunday that Saudi Arabia had agreed to the entry of an Iranian diplomat to head an office to take care of Iranian interests in the kingdom in a rare step since the break of relations between the two countries in 2016.
The agency quoted an Iranian diplomatic source familiar with saying on Sunday that " "Saudi Arabia has agreed to grant a visa to the supervisor of the Iranian Interests Office ... Observers believe that granting this visa represents a positive diplomatic step in relations between Tehran and Riyadh."
The office is expected to be located within the Swiss diplomatic mission in Saudi Arabia under an agreement signed in 2017. No official Saudi response to the Iranian report has yet been received.
Riyadh broke off diplomatic ties with Tehran after Iranian protesters stormed the Saudi embassy in Tehran after the kingdom executed Nimr al-Nimr, a Shi'ite cleric, in early January 2016.
Saudi Arabia welcomed President Trump's decision last May to withdraw the United States from the nuclear deal with Iran and re-impose economic sanctions on Tehran.
