Last July, a person killed the star of US President Donald Trump in the Hollywood Walk of Fame, and now a local authority is seeking to remove it completely.
West Hollywood City Council members agreed on Tuesday to remove the copper star in the famous Los Angeles passageway.
The vote is largely symbolic. The House has no authority over the Hall of Fame, but it did so to urge the chamber of commerce running the corridor to remove the star, Reuters reported.
The star in the corridor has become the scene of several anti-Trump protests since he announced his intention to run in the elections in 2015 and has been vandalized twice by two men who used heavy tools, but has been quickly repaired.
The council, passing the decision announced by the mayor, John Duran, said that the man honored by the star does not reflect the values of the municipality, which is one of the most liberal areas in the country.
The decision cites allegations by several women that Trump was sexually harassed, which the president denied. He also referred to Trump's policy of separating the families of asylum-seekers from the US border with Mexico.
