A senior FBI official said on Sunday that the second man in the US Justice Department was looking into the 2017 removal of President Donald Trump, based on an article in the constitution.
After this information, influential Republican Senator Lindsey Graham said it was necessary for Congress to open an investigation to determine whether it had actually achieved a "coup d'état" in the White House.

Andrew McPhee, who assumed the post of FBI chief after Trump James Coomy was sacked in May 2017, told CBS that the then Assistant Secretary of Justice Rod Rosenstein was "very concerned about the president, his abilities and his intentions."

He said he was personally "very concerned" about the future of a thorough investigation into allegations of complicity between Moscow and the Trump campaign team in 2016.

In this context, there were "discussions on amendment 25" of the Constitution, which allows the Vice President and the majority of members of the government to declare the "incompetence" of the President to assume his functions, according to Maccabi.

"He asked this question and asked me how many members of the government might support such a move," he said.
He added that "there was no census of voices" that could agree on the Trump action.

In March 2018, Maccabi was dismissed from the FBI, and it was officially announced that it had happened because it provided leaks to the press.

Last September, media outlets referred to these talks, but this is the first time that one of the parties has confirmed this.

On the other hand, Rosenstein denied that he had sought to sack the president, and his office said it was nothing but a joke.

During the first excerpts of the interview, Trump responded to Twitter by saying: "Andrew McAfee, who took over the FBI as an innocent little angel while he played a big role in the Russian hoax."

Republican Senator Lindsey Graham, who heads the Senate Judiciary Committee, has promised to use Congressional powers to investigate "who tells the truth."

"We will find out what happened, and the only way is to call people to give their testimony under oath," he told CBS. He was skeptical of Maccabi and accused him of having "ideas stemming from a political background."

A second senior US Justice Department official said in 2017 that President Donald Trump could be removed from the Senate as a constitution.

Andrew McPhee, who took over the post as president of the FBI after Trump fired former chief of staff James Coomy in May 2017, said Assistant Attorney General Rod Rozenstein was "very concerned about the president, his abilities and his intentions."

In an interview with CBS, he said he was also "very concerned" about the future of a "careful" investigation into the alleged collusion between Trump and Russia in the 2016 US presidential election

. "Rosenstein, who oversaw the Russian investigation, And questioned me about the number of members of the government who might support such a move, "adding that" what was going on is a census of voices that could agree to take off Trump. "

According to Maccabee, talks were held "on amendment 25" of the Constitution, which allows the Vice President and the majority of members of the government to declare the "incapacity" of the President to assume his duties.

Last December, media reported the talks, but this was the first time that one of the parties involved had confirmed them.

Rosenstein's office denied that the latter had sought to sack Trump, saying that "

Republican Senator Lindsey Graham, who chairs the Senate Judiciary Committee, also pledged to use Congressional powers to investigate whether or not there had been an "administrative coup" in the White House.

"We will find out what happened, and the only way is to listen to the statements," Graham told CBS. He was skeptical of McCabe, who accused him of adopting "political background ideas."

It is worth mentioning that US Attorney General Jeff Sessions dismissed Maccabi in March 2018, after finding an internal committee in the ministry that he leaked information to reporters, while denied the charges against him, McCabe denied the investigation against him, and he was the victim of retaliation from the Trump administration.
