British Prime Minister Felix Gidney has acknowledged the success of Russia's media efforts in Iraq and Syria, gaining the confidence of its citizens at the expense of the US-led coalition.
At an annual meeting of the US Ground Forces Association in Washington on Tuesday, Ghidni (who recently left the post of deputy commander of operations of the International Alliance against "advocating" in Iraq and Syria) said that Moscow and Damascus were engaged in "intensive media operations" by planting " False and distorted accounts "of events.
Ghidni cited pictures of Russian soldiers distributing humanitarian aid in Syria as well as pictures of the Russian and Syrian presidents side by side to draw attention to the effectiveness of Moscow's media efforts.
"The Russians are really successful, they are more skilled than us," he said.
"We see a well-studied media campaign aimed at defaming the coalition campaign, and I think that in many of our capitals, we have not realized that we are losing."
In this regard, Ghidni called on the West to activate its efforts in the field of media, so that these efforts would acquire the form of a "real multidisciplinary battle" against the influence of the Russian media.
