Iraq refers the international route with Jordan to an international organization

Iraq's international highway with Jordan has been referred to a United Nations organization, the head of the Iraqi province of al-Rutba, Emad al-Dulaimi, announced on Monday.
Al-Dulaimi said that information was sent to the United Nations Development Network (UNDP), the United Nations Development Network (UNDP), to allocate funds for the maintenance of bridges on the international highway from Baghdad to Ramadi and al-Tuba, to the international port of Tripoli with Jordan, Anbar, in the west of the country, according to Sputnik.
Al-Dulaimi stressed that the American companies that have been referred to the rehabilitation of the road, and the insurance so far has not started its work.
On 2 May, the mayor of al-Hattaba revealed that the yards of the "Tribal outlet" in the western part of the city had been transferred to Iraqi investors for rehabilitation.
On the start of the American company "Oluf Krupp," which was reached with the federal government to rehabilitate and secure the international highway from Baghdad to Ramadi, Anbar, to Trebil, Dulaimi told us that it has not yet begun.
Al-Qaimmakam pointed out that the road traffic through the Trebil port has declined recently, citing the elections scheduled for 12 May. "But the port is open and working, but not at the same pace in the past few days," he said.
It is worth mentioning that the Trebil complex is about 575 km from the Iraqi capital Baghdad and about 320 km from the Jordanian capital Amman.
The project includes the rehabilitation of the highway and access to the port of Trebil, the development of infrastructure so as to facilitate better service for its employees and passengers and truck drivers passing through and provides a smooth movement of vehicles through the port.
It is worth noting that in May 2016, the Iraqi forces completely liberated al-Rutba from the control of Da'ash in the process of restoring the entire city of Anbar, "the province which constitutes only one-third of the territory of Iraq, to the west."
The Iraqi Council of Ministers voted in its previous session on Tuesday, March 28, 2017, to secure an international road connecting Baghdad with the Jordanian border after the feasibility study for the construction of the border port in Trebil as an integral part of the international road project.
