US exemption allows China to buy 360,000 barrels per day from Iran
WASHINGTON (Reuters) - An American exemption from sanctions on Iran would allow China to buy 360,000 barrels per day of oil from Tehran for 180 days, two sources said on Tuesday.
"America has excluded China from buying Iranian oil by 360,000 barrels per day for 180 days," the news agency quoted Reuters as saying.
The two sources added that "the exemption includes conditions such as the need to disclose the counterparties and means of settlement, according to one source."
China bought an average of 655,000 bpd from Iran from January to September, according to Chinese customs data.
