Approval of the drilling of wells within the development projects West Qurna - 2

The Ministerial [url=https://www.thebaghdadpost.com/ar/Story/t/14122/%D9%84%D8%AC%D9%86%D8%A9 %D8%A7%D9%84%D8%B7%D8%A7%D9%82%D8%A9]Energy Committee[/url] on Tuesday decided to direct the Ministry of Water Resources to prepare a technical and evaluation study on the dam of Derbandikhan. It also agreed to hold the [url=https://www.thebaghdadpost.com/ar/Story/t/88011/%D8%AD%D9%81%D8%B1 %D8%A7%D9%84%D8%A2%D8%A8%D8%A7%D8%B1]drilling of wells[/url]within the development projects of West Qurna-2 field in Basra province.
The Ministry of Oil's Information Office said in a statement that [url=https://www.thebaghdadpost.com/ar/Story/t/14122/%D9%84%D8%AC%D9%86%D8%A9 %D8%A7%D9%84%D8%B7%D8%A7%D9%82%D8%A9]the[/url]Ministerial [url=https://www.thebaghdadpost.com/ar/Story/t/14122/%D9%84%D8%AC%D9%86%D8%A9 %D8%A7%D9%84%D8%B7%D8%A7%D9%82%D8%A9]Energy Committee[/url] chaired by Deputy Prime Minister for Energy and Oil Minister Thamer Abbas Al-Ghadhban held its weekly meeting, where a range of issues were discussed on the agenda.
The statement added that at the beginning of the meeting, the Deputy Prime Minister for Energy stressed the importance of this sector in the promotion and development of the national economy, which requires a great effort to meet the challenges, through the plans and programs and work in a team spirit in order to achieve the government's goals in the optimal investment of national wealth and upgrading Level of services provided to citizens. He added that the water resources and the optimal investment of rain and flood water have been discussed and reviewed. He pointed out that the committee decided to direct the Ministry of Water Resources to prepare a technical and evaluation study on the Darbandikhan dam.
He pointed out that the committee discussed the plans of the Ministry of Electricity for 2019 and the investment projects, alternative energy and other files that come within the priorities of the work, and directed the need to pay attention to maximizing the financial resources of the ministry for its importance in developing this sector and upgrading the level of services provided to Iraqi citizens. Regarding the oil sector, the statement pointed out that the committee agreed to hold drilling wells provided by the Basra Petroleum Company within the development projects of West Qurna / 2 in the province of Basra and transfer the contract to the Council of Ministers for approval.
