A report by Reuters that Iran runs dozens of sites on the Internet, visited by more than half a million people a month, in order to mislead the media.

According to the report, more than 70 websites, which have been revealed, are working to spread Iranian propaganda in 15 countries, which are being promoted with accounts of social media that exceed the number of followers of one million.

These include, but are not limited to, Nile Net Online, located in the heart of Cairo's Tahrir Square, but in fact run by Tehran, according to a Reuters report.

According to Reuters, the order of these sites was revealed in August when it was revealed by companies, including "Facebook" and "Twitter", after reached by the company "Fire Eye".

Social networking companies have closed hundreds of accounts promoting these sites or published targeted Iranian messages.

Tehran seems to be moving those websites, animating the browsers as local sites, through "fake" labels.

Among the sites revealed by the report:

    - A news website called (Another Western Dawn) in Pakistan

    - Websites targeting readers in Yemen, where Iran and Saudi Arabia are locked

    - A media outlet providing daily news and cartoons in Sudan.

    - a site called (RLN Novosti) any "real news" directed to Russian readers.

The report revealed that all these sites are linked to Iran through the publication of news and video recordings and cartoons, provided by the Foundation "International Union for Virtual Information" based in Tehran, and also share with the Union addresses and phone numbers.

"Iran is a highly experienced Internet expert," said John Brennan, former director of the CIA. "There are elements in the Iranian intelligence community that are very skilled in terms of working on the Internet."
