The Chinese Ministry of Commerce said on Wednesday that Beijing will work hard to adhere to the agreement reached between Chinese President Jiang Zemin and US President Donald Trump to ease the trade war between the two countries.
China will strive to push forward trade negotiations with the United States within 90 days, pledging to work quickly on the "points of consensus" reached with Washington to ease the trade dispute between the two countries, the ministry said in a statement.
She said talks between the Chinese and US presidents last weekend were "successful" and were "confident" of implementing their agreement.
"The economic and trade teams of both sides will actively push forward the negotiations within 90 days according to a clear timetable and a road map," she said.
"China will start implementing specific points where consensus has been reached, and the sooner this is done, the better," the ministry said.
Trump said Tuesday that he did not rule out the extension of the 90-day trade truce with Beijing, which he negotiated with his Chinese counterpart on Saturday in Buenos Aires. Finished
