The National Coalition denied on Friday the attempt by its president, Iyad Allawi, to carry out a military coup, pointing out that these allegations are "politicized and false", and that they are paid and linked to intelligence agendas will face the judiciary.
The coalition said in a statement received by Al-Maaloumah, "One of the satellite channels continues to harass and deceive the leader of the National Coalition, Iyad Allawi, on the occasion of its cancellation, sometimes by adopting lies and malicious rumors, and sometimes by insisting on hosting certain personalities to undermine the patriotism and its leader. Allawi is planning a military coup. "
The statement pointed out that "Allawi first laid the rules of the political process and fought terrorism .... It is also the first to establish the principles of the peaceful exchange of power after the 2005 elections. "
