"The pensions of retired Egyptians in Iraq are not a legacy, but the right of the widow and minor children only," the director general of retirement and social security in Iraq Ali Jaafar al-Hilu said.
Al-Hilo said during a press conference at the Ministry of Manpower in Cairo that the visit of the Iraqi delegation to Egypt comes to overcome the obstacles facing the transfer of entitlements to retired Egyptians.
He appealed to the Egyptians, who have dues for their work in the Iraqi government sector or private, to submit documents to prove that, stressing that the person who makes his papers does not mean that he has dues already, but will be studied first.
On the other hand, the number of beneficiaries in the private sector amounted to 398 persons, and more than 3.2 million dollars have been transferred so far to them, while the number of retirees in the government sector 250 retirees.
