    US sources said on Saturday that President Donald Trump's visit to Iraq was behind the scenes of an Iraqi leader handing him a paper bearing a collection of signatures. 

    "The American forces that were present on the Iraqi-Syrian border withdrew in the second half of last December, but before Trump's visit to the base of Ain al-Assad in Anbar on the day it was returned to its capabilities," the sources told Russia News Agency.




    She added that "Iraqis working with US forces have taken compulsory leave on the day of Trump visit to the base of Al-Assad without knowing the cause," indicating that "Rania base in Sulaymaniyah was closed the day before Trump visit and took out all the papers and details related to the work."

    The White House announced on December 26, 2018, that US President Donald Trump arrived in Iraq for a visit, noting that Trump denied any plans to withdraw his troops from Iraq. 

    Meanwhile, the office of Prime Minister Adel Abdul Mahdi said that US authorities had informed the Iraqi authorities of US President Donald Trump's visit to Iraq, adding that Trump had invited Abdul Mahdi to visit Washington.
