    US President Donald Trump has canceled his country's participation in the Davos forum because of the government closure, White House spokeswoman Sarah Sanders said Friday.
    "President Trump canceled the visit of the US delegation to the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland," Sanders said in a statement.
    US President Donald Trump on Thursday canceled his planned trip later this month to attend the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, with the partial closure of the US government.
    "Because of the intransigence of the Democrats on border security and the very importance of our nation's safety, I respectfully cancel my very important trip to Davos, Switzerland to attend the World Economic Forum," Trump said on Twitter.

    Directly : President Donald Trump canceled the US delegation 's trip to the Davos conference, citing government closure , which entered its twenty - eighth.
    White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders said in a report on Thursday that taking into consideration the 800,000 US employees who had not received their salary and to ensure that the US main team could help as needed, the president canceled the delegation's trip to Davos.
    The delegation was headed by Treasury Secretary Stephan Menuchin, Foreign Minister Michelle Bembo and Trade Minister Wilbur Ross.
    The Davos conference will start from January 22 to 25, with the annual World Forum in its 49th session.
    Last week, the US president announced his cancellation of his "very important trip to Davos" because of the intransigence of the Democrats for border security and the great importance of the safety of our country.
    Trump is not only reluctant to attend the Davos conference this year, with British Prime Minister Theresa May and French President Emmanuel Macaron apologizing for the turmoil in their country.
