    Rep. Of the Reform Alliance, Riyad al-Masoudi, on Tuesday, that the Iraqi government pays annually nine billion dollars as the benefits of its external debt, while attributed the rise of debt to corruption in the country. 
    "The administrative and financial corruption caused the rise in the size of the country's external debt to large levels that have not been controlled," Masoudi said in a statement. "The approach of previous governments to monitor the minister of the same blocks that caused them, Foreign affairs ". 
    He added that "the Iraqi government is currently paying nine billion annually as cash for its external debt," noting that "debt extinguishment needs to fight corruption seriously and free ministers and officials from pressure to reduce the theft of public money."
    The Parliamentary Finance Committee has confirmed earlier that the Iraqi government will continue to pay the external debt of the country until the end of 2053. 
    The House of Representatives obliged the government not to go towards external borrowing to fill the fiscal deficit in the federal budget for 2019 to curb the rise of the country's external debt 25
