    Information / Special ...
Basra Governorate Council announced on Tuesday its intention to vote during the next session on preventing the entry of cement from all governorates to Basra and obliging the public and private sectors to use cement from Basra factories, noting that the governorate consumes annually 3 million tons and the province's output reaches four million and 400 thousand tons.
"The provincial council has embarked on a plan to protect the local product manufactured by the governorate and to oblige the private and public sectors to use the materials manufactured in Basra," said council member Anwar Madal.
"Basra's annual consumption rate of cement is three million tons, while the governorate's production factor is more than four million and 400,000 tons," she said.
She explained that "the Council prepared a complete plan to vote during the next session on a resolution obliging the public and private sectors to use cement factory plant."
