The President of the Republic Barham Saleh on Saturday called for the necessity of waiting for the results of the investigations on the bombing of the Popular Mobilization Camps in order to come up with a unified position that preserves the rights of the country.
This came during a meeting today with the heads of the coalition of state law Nuri al-Maliki and Fatah Hadi al-Amiri and former speaker of the House of Representatives Salim al-Jubouri.
Saleh said in a presidential statement during these meetings to "reject the policy of axes and liquidation of accounts, and distancing the country from being a springboard to attack any of the neighboring countries and the region."
He pointed to the importance of "waiting for the results of the ongoing investigation by the competent national authorities in the data on the recent attacks on weapons stores to come out with a unified position that preserves the rights of Iraq and enhances its security, independence and sovereignty."
Four bases used by the PMU have been hit by mysterious explosions over the past month, the latest of which took place on Tuesday evening at a headquarters near Balad Air Base north of Baghdad, which houses US military personnel.
The Iraqi National Security Council decided to open an investigation into the bombings attributed to Israel, and the need to transfer weapons and equipment from cities to other places to preserve the lives and property of people in the country.
